The Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel opened its doors as a college residence in the year 2016. It is located in San Sebastián (Donostia) and it is a center associated with the University of Navarra, and thus, a corporate work of the Opus Dei.
There are currently 50 college students from different places in Spain and the rest of the world residing in the Colegio Mayor. Some of our residents study in the University of Navarra and others study in the Basque Culinary Center, in the University of the Basque Country (UPV), Musikene or Deusto. This Diversity, in the areas of studies and the hometowns of the students, allows the Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel to respond to the needs posed by today’s society of having a global education through cultured coexistence.
The Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel has a unique educational program, the Alumni College Program, which was developed by the Colegios Mayores Aldaz, Goimendi, Goroabe and Olabidea in Pamplona, and by the Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel in San Sebastián, in collaboration with Alumni-Universidad de Navarra. The Alumni College program aims to encompass not only the academic aspects of the schoolgirls, but also the personal and professional.
At Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel a university and family environment is provided where students can grow on a cultural, professional and personal level. It has an attitude of being open to the city and it’s open to non-resident university students. This environment of coexistence between students and teachers encourages the ideal situation for personalized counseling.
Throughout the academic year, the Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel performs various social, recreational, sporting and cultural activities that are organized by the committees of the Colegio Mayor, which are made up by the residents. In this way, at the Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel we promote a proactive attitude, which sparks curiosity and boosts the university spirit.
